A year after I graduated from college I found myself stressed out, overweight, and incredibly unhappy. I had stopped going to the gym in favor of binge-eating anything Seamlessweb would deliver to my apartment, and it showed... on my thighs... and on most other places. I didn't fit into any of my clothes and I was embarrassed to go out. When I found out that my body fat was 27% of my total weight, I vowed to make a change and get in shape.
In Shape Out of Mind came from my need to share what happened after I squeezed myself into my too-tight spandex and headed back to the gym. As much as I claim to be a private (read secretive) person, I have always found myself drawn to the public domain of the Internet.
My posts range from group fitness class and workout apparel reviews to recaps of my latest races and what I ate for breakfast. I hope you find motivation to push yourself to reach your fitness goals, and get a few laughs while you're at it. Everything that I write actually happened... no matter how absurd it may sound. It's just a typical day when you're In Shape and Out of Mind.
