About Me

My photo
My excessive energy, extreme narcissism, and intense love of neon-colored spandex is both managed and fueled by my addiction to fitness. I push myself to extremes and I push other people's buttons. Obviously I needed my own blog.

Winter Running is Making Me Ugly

Winter running is making me ugly. I've included an extra-large photo of my face so you can see the mega-zit that is colonizing the side of my nose.

My face felt so dry after my runs this past weekend and some of skin started flaking. Then these whiteheads appeared on my chin, next to my nose, and in my eyebrow. I know you are totally enthralled learning where my breakouts have occurred. I tend to have really nice skin and I'm not used to this so I am going to inform the entire internet.

I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser to wash my face each day unless I shower in my shower at my apartment and then I use Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser. I usually shower at the gym or wash my face outside of the shower so I primarily use the Neutrogena. I normally feel like my skin is dry so I use Pond's Dry Skin Cream all over my face and often on my body.

Photos from each link above.
Now it seems that I am going to have to break out the Proactiv.

I've read that a layer of Vaseline can protect your face from elements while running in the cold, but does anyone know what that will do to my face otherwise? I'm not sure what I would do if I got late 20s acne. Probably work from home for the rest of my life and wear a ski mask while running.

  2. I am ashamed it has taken me this long to figure it out! Ok, so for a cleanser I swear by Murad's Time Release Acne Cleanser which also has anti-aging goodness (boo-ya!) for all of us worried about both.http://www.sephora.com/time-release-acne-cleanser-P254720?skuId=1224724
Swimmers have issues with extreme dryness in the winter and many prefer aquaphor over Vaseline. Something about the texture of aquaphor makes it absorb faster and doesn't smell like gross Vaseline. It also has a matte finish so you don't look like the victim of a BP oil spill.

  3. Aquaphor - GENIUS! I am going to buy some tomorrow and test it this weekend. I will let you know how that turns out. I've used your MURAD before and I felt like my face was burning after. Do I need to gradually start using it?

I'm so proud you learned how to post comments!

  4. Murad can be intense. Another facewash people swear by is Origins Checks and Balances. 5 star reviews on beauty.com, can't beat that.
